• No account. No analytics. No ads. No advertising identifiers.
• We run no server that receives your data.
• Statistics, the activity log and your custom lists are stored only on your device.
• Allowed DNS lookups go, encrypted, to the resolver you choose.
• The app downloads block lists. No user data is sent in these requests.

The app saves your settings, block statistics, the activity log and your custom lists and allowed sites on your device. We do not receive them. Resetting statistics or deleting the app removes this data. Your device backup may include it, depending on your backup settings.

The app uses the system VPN interface only on your device. It captures DNS lookups so it can block unwanted domains. There is no remote VPN server. The app is not a VPN service: your IP address is not hidden and your location is not changed. All other traffic does not go through the app. The app does not read, record or send the content of your connections.

On iPhone and iPad, Pro can turn on a Safari content blocker. It runs on your device. Safari applies the rules itself. The app does not see the pages you visit or any browsing data. Nothing about your browsing is sent to us.

When a domain is not blocked, the app forwards the lookup to the resolver you choose in Settings. It is sent encrypted (DNS over HTTPS). The resolver sees the domain names you look up and your IP address, under its own privacy policy. We receive nothing. You can choose one of these:

• Cloudflare (1.1.1.1): Cloudflare privacy policy
• Quad9 (9.9.9.9): Quad9 privacy policy
• Google Public DNS (8.8.8.8): Google Public DNS privacy

The app may use plain DNS as a last resort if encrypted DNS fails. The setting “Strict encrypted DNS” turns this off.

Once a day the app downloads signed block lists from aspida-metras-lists.pages.dev. This is a plain download request (HTTP GET). It contains no account, no identifier and no data about you. As with any web request, the host that serves the files may technically see your IP address in its server logs. The app checks each list before it is used. Pro lists are downloaded only if you have Pro.

Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive your payment details. The app checks on your device whether you have Pro. Apple or Google may share purchase information with us in anonymous reports, under their own policies.

The app processes data on your device to provide the protection you chose to use. We process support emails on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) and to meet legal record-keeping duties.

If you email aspida@mymetras.com, we receive your email address, your message and any details you include. We use them to answer your request. Please do not send sensitive personal information. We keep correspondence while it is needed and for any legal record-keeping period.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• access, correct or delete your personal data;
• restrict or object to its processing;
• receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time;
• complain to a supervisory authority. In Greece this is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, or the authority in the country where you live.

We hold no data about you in the app. For data we hold from emails, write to aspida@mymetras.com. For DNS data, contact the resolver you chose.

The app is for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We will update this page and its date if our practices change. Visits to this website are covered by the website privacy policy.
